AKINCI, produced with high technology by AKINROBOTICS, is the first humanoid robot prototype in Turkey. The project started in 2009 as a research and development initiative. The fourth prototype of the project, AKINCI-3, exhibits human-like features such as the movement of fingers, arm joints, and facial expressions. Additionally, it has the ability to walk through its legs and can speak Turkish. With a total weight of 85 kilograms and a height of 160 centimeters, AKINCI-3 can actively provide services for up to 2 hours.
Equipped with a balance sensor, AKINCI-3 can maintain its balance by instantly responding to external forces (pushing, obstacles on the path, ramps, etc.) during walking. It also has capabilities like depth perception through a stereo vision camera, determining direction while walking to reach a target point, reporting potentially dangerous situations through its odor sensor, and determining orientation using onboard sensors.
AKINCI-3 can conduct research on requested topics by scanning encyclopedic databases on the Internet and conveying information. It possesses abilities such as object recognition and tracking, human detection and tracking, perception and interpretation engine, detecting and interpreting environmental temperature and odors, programming and control interface (IDE), walking, changing direction, and climbing stairs through its 6-axis 2 legs, grasping objects with a 5-fingered ergonomic hand, and mimicking facial expressions with 12 facial motors.
Displayed for visitors at the Istanbul Robot Museum, which was opened by AKINSOFT and AKINROBOTICS on December 15, 2022, AKINCI-3 represents a significant achievement in the field of robotics. You can access visuals of the humanoid robot AKINCI-P within the page.
