AKINCI, produced with high technology by AKINROBOTICS, is the first humanoid robot prototype in Turkey. The vision for AKINROBOTICS, as set by AKINSOFT upon its establishment in 1995, was officially announced in 2009 when the robotic laboratory was founded within the AKINSOFT structure, initiating research and development (R&D) activities. Following the official announcement of AKINROBOTICS, the AKINCI project, Turkey's first humanoid robot prototype, was launched. The initial prototype of the project, AKINCI-P (Motion Support System Study), can demonstrate humanoid features such as arm and leg movements. With the legs developed through research and improvements, it made the first steps towards walking. AKINCI-P also has the ability to speak. While initially having a single language option, later prototypes of AKINCI-P produced in subsequent periods actively incorporate multiple language options. The total weight of the AKINCI-P prototype is 48 kilograms, and it stands at 135 cm tall. The R&D activities for AKINCI-P began on June 25, 2009, and its robotic studies were completed on April 24, 2010, leading to the start of work on a new humanoid robot prototype, AKINCI-1. The first produced prototype of the ongoing development of the AKINCI series, AKINCI-P, Turkey's first humanoid robot project, is showcased for visitors at the Istanbul Robot Museum, opened on December 15, 2022, by AKINSOFT and AKINROBOTICS.
