The AKINCI, produced with high technology by AKINROBOTICS, is the first humanoid robot prototype in Turkey. It is a project that began its R&D studies in 2009. AKINCI-1, the second prototype of the project, can demonstrate humanoid features such as moving fingers, arm joints, and other joint movements. It also has the ability to walk through its legs and can speak Turkish. However, it performs detection and speaking features in a limited manner. It has a total weight 45 kilograms and a height of 145 cm. Equipped with a balance sensor, AKINCI-1 can respond instantly to external forces (pushing, obstacles on the road, ramps, etc.) during walking to maintain balance. It has abilities such as vision with a 2D camera, determining direction while walking to reach the target point, and determining ground orientation using sensors.
AKINCI-1 can perform tasks such as object recognition and tracking, human detection and tracking, perception and interpretation engine, programming and control interface (IDE), walking through its 6-axis 2 feet, changing direction, and climbing stairs. It can also grasp objects with its 5-fingered ergonomic hand design. The power supply for AKINCI-1 is through a battery adapter. Completing its R&D activities and humanoid robot project as the second prototype on July 14, 2011, AKINCI-1 is showcased for visitors at the Istanbul Robot Museum, Turkey's first robot museum, opened on December 15, 2022, by AKINSOFT and AKINROBOTICS.
