He founded AKINSOFT on April 12, 1995. He completed his Bachelor's degree in the Department of Computer Engineering at Selçuk University, his Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, and his Doctorate in the field of Robotic Technology at the Institute of Science and Technology. By exporting software to 51 countries with over 120 commercial and sectoral programs he developed, primarily Wolvox ERP E-Business Software, and with the 16 different language options he offered, he made AKINSOFT one of the largest software companies in Turkey.
With the robotics laboratories he established under AKINSOFT in 2009, he initiated R&D studies on humanoid robots. He broke new ground by developing Turkey's first humanoid robot prototype, the bipedal AKINCI series, the agricultural robot PNCR series, the service robot ADA series, the hostess series Mini ADA, and the field robot ARAT series.
At the same time, in 2022, he opened the 'World's First Humanoid Robot Museum' in Istanbul, where all the work carried out in-house by AKINROBOTICS in the field of robotic technologies since 2009 would be exhibited. He also actualized his 2023 vision by opening the Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Technologies Master's Program in cooperation with AKINROBOTICS and BAHÇEŞEHİR UNIVERSITY.
Dr. Özgür AKIN, who has conducted over 100 seminars with the name 'Ütopyana Dokun' at many institutions and organizations, primarily universities and Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and is also the author of the book 'Ütopyana Dokun,' gave lectures as a lecturer at Karatay University, Department of Mechatronics Engineering during the 2014–2015 academic term. He was also a candidate for the 24th term of Konya Independent Deputy in 2011. In 2011, he became a 24th Term Konya Independent Parliamentary Candidate.
Along with outdoor sports such as skiing, sailing, diving, and mountaineering; Dr. AKIN, who has many hobbies such as photography, writing poetry, playing musical instruments, horse riding, being interested in motorsports, and playing tennis, is also known for his animal lover identity.
