ADA 1, whose production, software and robot interface studies were developed by AKINROBOTICS, is taking its place in everyday life. This prototype serves as the initial production step for the ADA series of social robots, that will be involved in various tasks, events, and projects in the future. The project started on May 3, 2014, and was completed on July 7, 2014. Subsequent robots in the series were assigned tasks such as waitressing, hosting, consulting, guiding and reception services. They were equipped with capabilities like table service, speech, human tracking, obstacle detection, brochure distribution, interactive data sharing, autonomous navigation, facial recognition system, among others.
The ADA series robots successfully performed these tasks and capabilities, providing users with a significant experience. The weight of the ADA 1 prototype is 28 kg, and its height of 150 cm. The robot utilizes lead-acid battery technology (12V) for power, enabling it to operate actively for approximately 2.5 hours. In 2014, the ADA 1 prototype, serving as the first step in the field of robotic technologies in Turkey by AKINSOFT and AKINROBOTICS, took on the role of waitstaff at Cadde Meram Cafe and Robotic Application Center. After completing its active duties and R&D activities, ADA 1 is now showcased for visitors at the Istanbul Robot Museum, which opened on December 15, 2022, through collaboration of AKINSOFT and AKINROBOTICS.
